Not Getting Enough Fun? Try This Super Easy Tool

Hi! I'm Stella
Feeling like joy is in short supply? Like life is all grind, no play? Between work, responsibilities, and (let’s be real) everything, it’s easy to feel like fun is a luxury you can’t afford.
This weekend, I hosted a women’s event at my home, all about bringing more happiness into our lives. And guess what? Most of the women shared the same struggle: they felt exhausted, stretched thin, and barely present in their day.
If that's you...or you just want to amplify the good times, here’s an easy way to cultivate a more joyful life. I call it (drumroll, please)... The Joy Tracker!
What’s The Joy Tracker?
We track our spending, our steps, our to-do lists… but how often do we track our joy? Noticing and naming those moments helps magnify their impact and make you crave more of them.
Here’s all you do: Each time you experience even a tiny spark of joy, or anything that brings you more alive, jot it down on a physical calendar. That’s it!
Joyful moments can be simple and brief - for example, reading a book in your favorite coffee shop, hiking with a friend, dancing in your kitchen, or savoring blooming flowers.
I started joy tracking when my daughter was complaining that we weren’t having enough fun. She was forgetting and dismissing the fabulous weekend we just had. So I grabbed an extra calendar and started capturing our good times. Turns out, we were experiencing way more fun than we thought!
Why Joy Tracking Works:
1. It helps you savor – The more you anticipate, experience, and relive good moments, the happier you feel.
2. It builds momentum – Progress fuels motivation, and joy is no exception.
3. It changes your story – A visual record turns "I never have fun anymore" into a narrative of :"whoa, look at all these sweet times!"
If You’re Too Tired for Fun, Start Small, Be Easy (Even Lazy):
1. Ditch the ‘shoulds’ – Pick something that you actually desire doing from the get go.
2. Count any moment that fills you up – A good sip of coffee, watching the birds, singing in the shower - it can be brief.
3. People matter – Time with energizing friends is usually an automatic joy boost. Our relationships are the number one predictor of our happiness.
4. Alone time counts too – If you’re an introvert, how can you create quality solo time?
5. Not sure what brings you joy? – Reflect: When did you last feel totally like yourself? What made you laugh out loud? What made you feel free? See if you can inch towards experiences like that.
I know fun can feel like a stretch for some...but just mark your calendar to track your joy and see what happens. And then let me know!
